Invisalign
Invisalign clear dental aligners are quickly becoming one of the most requested – and cost-effective – oral health treatments available.
You deserve a healthy, beautiful smile. At Flash Dental, we pride ourselves on our ability to deliver world-class dental care while also offering deluxe amenities to our patients.
A key part of our mission is to keep our fingers on the pulse of medical and dental science, studying new and emerging techniques to make sure our patients receive the best – and most effective – dental treatments possible.
For years, many of our patients who struggled with crooked teeth thought that dental braces were the only solution – and it’s no surprise why so many people avoid them. Braces are painful, ugly, and usually have to be worn for years before visibly benefitting your smile.
Invisalign uses clear plastic aligners which are custom-fit for each patient. These fit over the entire upper or lower set of teeth, gently guiding them into the proper straightness and alignment. Invisalign works gradually with each aligner shifting the teeth weekly.
This gives Invisalign many benefits over traditional braces for most users:
- Nearly invisible: Invisalign aligners are made of clear plastic and virtually undetectable in day-to-day life.
- Easy application: Each aligner simply slides on and off. There’s no need for glues or an extensive uncomfortable application process.
- Greater comfort: In general, there is far less discomfort wearing Invisalign appliances than metal braces, with nothing to damage your lips or tongue.
- No eating restrictions: Unlike braces, Invisalign does nothing to change your eating habits. You just slip off the appliance while eating, and put it back in place when you’re done. Likewise, tooth brushing and flossing is also unaffected.
- Easy cleaning: Invisalign aligners do need to be cleaned nightly, but there is no difficulty to it. They can be cleaned through soaking, like dentures, or merely rubbed with soap and water.
Invisalign dental aligners work by using a series of clear aligner trays that will hug your teeth with precision – directing them to where they need to go.
Each individual tray is custom designed by your doctor using the latest three-dimensional molding techniques, ensuring a safe and comfortable fit. Almost every two weeks, you will receive a new tray to accommodate all of the progress you’ve made and encourage further straightening until your smile is a uniformed row of white-glistening perfection.
Although you will begin seeing progress within your first couple of weeks of treatment, most Invisalign cases require about 9 to 18 months of care. Of course, that time frame varies greatly from patient to patient.
The total cost of the Invisalign procedure varies from patient to patient and from location to location. However, you would expect to pay more for Invisalign – considering how it is totally customized for you, virtually transparent, and more comfortable, right? Think again!
Although Invisalign offers the same benefits of traditional metal braces, but with less discomfort and embarrassment, the treatments are remarkably similar in cost. So Invisalign may be the best solution for your wallet as well as the gentlest option for your mouth.
Invisalign is used to treat many of the most common oral-alignment issues including crooked teeth and smile gaps. Chances are, you are a valid candidate for Invisalign. However, you must consult with your Flash Dental team to ensure your particular issues can be treated with Invisalign.
In most cases, if you’ve started correcting your smile with conventional braces, you can switch over to Invisalign to complete the process. However, that isn’t always the case, so it’s always better to begin dental alignment treatment with Invisalign.
Our Edmond Invisalign clear aligners are extremely low maintenance. Since they are removable, you are encouraged to brush and floss your teeth the same way you did before receiving Invisalign. As for cleaning the Invisalign trays, you can purchase a specialized cleaning solution or brush them inside and out with your regular toothbrush and toothpaste under lukewarm water.
In order to maintain the results, you’ve seen through your Invisalign treatments, most dentists will recommend using some sort of oral retainer as after-care. This is usually the case for conventional braces as well. However, every case is different and depending on the health of your smile going into the treatment, a retainer may not be necessary.
